Legal Aid Services

The Legal Aid Society of Hawai`i provides help to individuals and families who cannot afford to hire a private attorney with their civil legal needs. Legal Aid responds to approximately 19,000 inquiries each year, and 10,000 of those individuals recieve legal services ranging from advice and counsel to full representation.

Legal Aid primarily assists in the areas of Family, Housing, Consumer, and Public Benefits Law. Please click on a link below to find out more about services offered for each area:

Legal Aid also provides assistance through a number of special projects, including tax assistance, homeowner counseling, a senior hotline, special services for the homeless, and more. For more information about Legal Aid’s Special Projects, please click HERE.
